Guidelines for our community events

We are thrilled to welcome you. A barn concert, or listening room, is a unique and intimate way to experience live music. Because our concerts take place in a private venue rather than a commercial one, we follow specific legal guidelines for our community events to keep these gatherings safe, legal and private. To help us protect the artists and our venue, please take a moment to read the rules of the road below.

1. By invitation only

To comply with music licensing laws, our concerts are strictly private, non-public events, by RSVP invitation only. Laws related to publishing rights organizations keep us from publishing our address so anyone can attend. Everyone is welcome, but we ask that you contact us to be placed on our Inner Circle email invitation list.

If you are not on our list, complete the Inner Circle sign-up form, or email nmluminaconnection@gmail.com and ask to be added.

You can reserve online for an upcoming concert with a suggested donation. Please join the Inner Circle before reserving your seat.

You will receive an invitation to each concert, and you can reply to request a reservation. We will then send you directions and details for that concert. Please do not arrive at a concert without a reservation. Suggested donations are also accepted at the door.

2. Suggested donations, not ticket sales

Your donations support the artists, keep the sounds on and support our non-profit mission. We do not profit from these events. Every dollar collected goes directly to the performing musicians to support their tour and their craft.

The amount requested at the door or with your reservation is a voluntary suggested donation, not a commercial admission fee. Your generosity directly sustains independent live music.

3. Listening room etiquette

In a listening room, the music takes center stage. To respect the artists and your fellow guests, we ask for an attentive room.

Quiet, please. Keep conversation to a minimum during the performance. There is plenty of time to socialize before the show, at intermission and afterward.

Devices on silent. Please silence all phones.

No public broadcasting. A quick photo for your own memory book is usually fine, but live-streaming or broadcasting the performance online is strictly prohibited due to artist copyright.

4. Food, drinks and hospitality

Bring your own, and bring a dish. Since we do not hold a commercial liquor or food service license, we cannot sell refreshments. We invite you to bring your favorite beverage or contribute a dish to our community potluck table. We supply tea, water and coffee. Doors open one hour before every show for social time and the potluck.

Thank you for helping us support independent artists and build a respectful, legally sound community for live music.
